JBL Control 25T
A 70 volt amp outputs a voltage comparable to a WRT the first comment, yes, and no. This is to make sure the siren will still sound during a fire that has already damaged the cabling. The grid uses much higher voltage to get the VAC to travel over long spans of cable. The frequency remains basically intact from one end to the other, but the original voltage can be anything as long as this value is known, so they can provide the proper transformers before distributing it to the end users. The audio signal is "riding" on the 70V from the amplifier and the transformer at the speaker is for dropping the signal to something a speaker can use.
