The colour on the Lands of Barovia map are much more vibrant than before, but the different elevation colours are harder to tell apart. I feel like the colour accuracy is off. It is not perfect, but then again, nothing is. In the hands of a decent DM, this Module can be! My review of this excellent Module can be found on my YouTube Channel. Not like the original what has a cover a book and a map inside its all in one? This happens all the time, with numerous publishers, and it gets more annoying the more products I buy.

Is one a scan and the other one a digital remastered version? So you have a german-russian-slavic last name preceded by a somewhat slavic sounding but actually meaningless first name.

Spencer S August 27, pm UTC Has anyone bought the PoD for this one, and are the maps still in color or was everything converted to black and white for the printed version?

All detail is present though. Cover is full glossy colour though and looks great. When it first came out. I hate paying for the same content multiple times. Maybe even taking the top spot. Nothing compares to a supremely smart villain taking the heroes off their guard, putting them in his realm, and watching them struggle to solve the mysteries and defeat him. A ton of fun to run. Sadly, it is only released as hardcover with no PDF option.

The maps of Ravenloft are the same, down to the numbering. The I6 version is easier to read, the "Curse" version a bit more artsy, but no real changes have been made.

I like referring back to I6 for comparing the 5e text to the 1e maps. The map in I6 can actually help understand the lay of the land because it shows elevation. The new module comes with beautifully done foldout map.

I recommend to get both and compare. The downloadable version is now significantl [ My gripes with the POD tend to match many others. The print is blury and appears out of focus. My maps are all black and white while the pdf maps are in color. The map of Barovia is worthless in [ The other thin [ Writing is so light-grey it gives you an headache. Expected more from WOC.

I6-Ravenloft

Plot[ edit ] The story involves a party of player characters PCs who travel to the land of Barovia , a small nation surrounded by a deadly magical fog. The master of nearby Castle Ravenloft, Count Strahd von Zarovich , tyrannically rules the country, and a prologue explains that the residents must barricade their doors each night to avoid attacks by Strahd and his minions. Before play begins, the Dungeon Master or DM, the player who organizes and directs the game play [3] randomly draws five cards from a deck of six. Two of these cards determine the locations of two magical weapons useful in defeating Strahd: the Holy Symbol and the Sunsword.
