Abstract The carrier of syndrome of down presents a series of physical and mental characteristics, such as hipotonia muscular, looseness to ligamentar, low stature, increase of the corporal weight and mental retardation. The practitioner is leading to follow the movements of the horse, being had to keep the balance and the motor coordination to all put into motion the body inside of its limits.
The present study it had for objective to verify the benefits of the equoterapia in the main delays of the motor development. The patient was submitted to the treatment protocol two weekly times, that consisted of exercises for balance, motor coordination and muscular force.
The patient was evaluated daily pay and after treatment. In the end of the treatment protocol it was observed that it had improvement in the balance, motor coordination, in the march and in the muscular force the results had not been so positive.
